Cancellation Policy

In this cancellation policy, “we”, “us”, or “our” means Nara Desert Escape and Sonara Camps; “you” or “your” means the person (and their guests) who has purchased services from us. Each a “Party” and together the “Parties”.

Right to cancel

  • If you are unable to attend a previously booked experience, strict cancellation fees as described below apply.
  • We recommend opting for the Cancellation Protection Program (“CPP”) at checkout to benefit from last-minute cancellation coverage. To use the CPP, notify us in writing at the email above.
  • Force majeure. If we cancel an experience due to causes beyond our reasonable control (including, without limitation, government acts, acts of God, shortages, transport delays, fire, flood, labour disturbances, riots, epidemics/pandemics, or war), we will offer an alternative date or a transferable voucher valid for six (6) months. Refunds are not provided unless otherwise agreed in the CPP.
  • To meet any deadline, it is sufficient to send your cancellation before the applicable period expires (see Article 2).

Operational or Venue Privatization Cancellations

Nara reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any booking due to operational requirements, venue privatization, safety considerations, adverse weather conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.

In such cases, guests will be offered either an alternative date or a full refund of the amount paid.

This refund constitutes the full and final settlement, and Nara shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive losses or damages of any kind, whether foreseeable or not, arising from or in connection with any cancellation, rescheduling, delay, modification, or change of venue. This includes, without limitation, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity, travel, accommodation, meals, transportation, or other expenses incurred by you or any third party. Our liability, if any, shall in all cases be limited to the amount actually paid by you to us for the relevant booking.

Operating threshold

Camps require a minimum of twenty (20) guests to operate. If not reached, you will be offered: (i) the same venue on another date; or (ii) another available venue on the same day; or (iii) cancellation with refund per Article 2/force majeure.

Cancellation periods – full-payment bookings

Fewer than six (6) guests

  • > seventy-two (72) hours before: full refund (with or without CPP)
  • < seventy-two (72) hours before: full refund with CPP; no refund without CPP

Cancellation Protection Program is optional and a non-refundable fee.

Six (6) guests or more

  • > seven (7) days before: full refund (with or without CPP)
  • six (6) days to seventy-two (72) hours: full refund with CPP; fifty percent (50%) refund without CPP
  • < seventy-two (72) hours: full refund with CPP; no refund without CPP

Cancellation periods – 50% prepayment bookings

  • No refunds apply to the 50% prepayment option.
  • Force majeure: no refund; alternative date or transferable voucher valid for six (6) months.

Third-party services

Any third-party suppliers/entertainers you booked are subject to their own cancellation policies.

Changes in party size

Changes in party size follow the same deadlines and rules as above.

Cut-off time & no-shows

  • Written cancellations or rescheduling requests must be received by 12:00 (noon) on the day of your experience.
  • Rescheduling after the cut-off may incur AED 200 per adult / AED 100 per child.
  • Cancellations after the cut-off are treated as no-shows and charged one hundred percent (100%) with or without CPP.

Effects of cancellation

  • Refunds are processed within fourteen (14) business days via the original payment method, unless agreed otherwise.
  • Cancellation Protection Program is optional and a non-refundable fee.
  • A five percent (5%) processing fee applies to all eligible refunds.

Third-party rights

No person other than a Party has the right to enforce any term of this policy. We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, cancellation, or failure arising from the acts, omissions, or errors of any third-party suppliers or entertainers. Any arrangements, bookings, or transactions with third parties are undertaken at your own risk, and you acknowledge that we do not control, guarantee, or warrant the quality, availability, or performance of such third parties.

Disputes

Disputes are subject to the laws of Dubai (Sonara Dubai), Ras Al Khaimah (Sonara Al Wadi), and the United Arab Emirates. The Dubai and RAK Courts, as applicable have exclusive jurisdiction.

Rebooking / Postponement (client-initiated)

If you wish to postpone and rebook the same event, you must notify us in writing no later than thirty (30) days prior to the previously booked (initial) date. The new date must be within six (6) months of the original booking and is subject to availability and prevailing rates.

During peak/high season (as defined by us, e.g., public holidays or city-wide event periods), supplemental rebooking fees and/or minimum-spend adjustments may apply. All monies paid to date will be carried forward net of any non-recoverable third-party costs and any price uplifts applicable to the new date.

  • With CPP: sixty percent (60%) refund (or 60% above the deposit if partially paid) or alternative date, or voucher valid for six (6) months.
  • Without CPP: no refund; alternative date or voucher valid for six (6) months.

We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, cancellation, or failure arising from the acts, omissions, or errors of any third-party suppliers or entertainers. Any arrangements, bookings, or transactions with third parties are undertaken at your own risk, and you acknowledge that we do not control, guarantee, or warrant the quality, availability, or performance of such third parties.

Cancellation Protection Program (CPP)

  • The CPP must be selected before signing and is paid with the down payment.
  • Once purchased, the CPP cannot be removed.
  • The CPP fee is non-refundable and excluded from any refund.
  • Refunds are made within fourteen (14) business days via the original payment method.
  • A five percent (5%) processing fee applies to all eligible refunds.

  • Written cancellations or amendments must be received no later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to pick-up time.
  • After the cut-off, cancellations are treated as no-shows and charged one hundred percent (100%) with or without CPP.

    • Between ten (10) days and seventy-two (72) hours: 25% refund.
    • Ten (10) days or more: full refund.

Without CPP

  • Guest illness: May reschedule within one (1) month (no refund).
  • Bad weather: Alternative date or voucher valid for six (6) months.
  • Other cases:
    • Seven (7) days or less / no-show: no refund.
    • Between fifteen (15) and eight (8) days: 25% refund.
    • Fifteen (15) days or more: 75% refund.

Force Majeure

  • With CPP: Full refund, alternative date, or voucher valid for six (6) months.
  • Without CPP: No refund; alternative date or voucher valid for six (6) months.
